My Happy Week: the adventure continues!

Hey lovelies! I'm sorry I have been a little M.I.A during this past week, I have been on the road a lot & very little on my computer. The "technology detox" has been very nice though. My family is still away, and I have done so many things I never thought I would be able to do without having panic attacks! It feels truly great & I am beyond happy!

I have been driving endlessly (day and night) which has been so amazing for me because I find it very relaxing and because I have challenged myself to be okay with driving at night and with getting lost. I have always been a bit terrified of driving at night through mountains or dark highways, but I have done it... without panicking! And you know what the amazing thing is? The more I do it, and I discover strength in me, the more I am more focused on getting rid of my anxiety once and for all. I heard something the other day while listening to the radio that really uplifted me and it was so wonderful I couldn't wait to share it with you guys! Here it is:
"Life is a roller-coaster, but happiness is a choice, so you have the choice of making the highs as amazing and wonderful as possible, and you can also control how low the lows go." (cannot remember the name of the person who said it!)
This week has been amazing! I have been able to control my lows, and somehow have even turned them all into highs! Even though my family is not here, I have been spending time with my boyfriend and cousin, and we have had a lot of fun together! Whenever I miss my family, I call them and am constantly texting them, but also I have been making sure that I am not spending a lot of time on my phone. I have kept myself too busy to even think about the fact that they are gone! All I can say is I have discover new strength in all of this, I have grown so much in just a couple of day by becoming more independent.

My cousin doesn't drive where I live (it has very heavy traffic), so I have been in control of the wheel always! I have taken her so many places and we have walked so much our legs hurt! We have eaten in a lot of places we love and have had frozen yogurt twice! I also joined the gym (Planet Fitness) and ran 6 miles in one hour the first day I went! It was hard but oh so rewarding afterwards! I love running long distances and seeing how fast I can go... I am not very fast but before this summer ends, I want to run at least 8 miles in one hour! I'll let you know how that goes! :)

One of the most important challenges I had this week was that for the very first time ever, I stayed at my house alone! Because of my anxiety and fears, I was never brave enough to sleep all night by myself in the house! Yesterday I did it and it was so liberating and amazing! My dog Koko was with me, but he fell asleep like at 7am (great company hu? ) haha! I cleaned the house, lit some candles, watched my favorite movies, and listened to a new playlist I found on Spotify called "Get Happy" that got me in the best, hyper/happy mood ever! I also bought my favorite food which consisted of lots and lots of yummy fruit! I really enjoyed my own company...I loved being alone!

Overall, It was wonderful! I cannot be happier and well after all of this...now I am definitely ready to welcome my family back because I miss the a lot! I think this has been the first time in years that I have spent almost two weeks or so without a panic attack! I don't even remember the last one I had! Guyyyss, I am so happy!! :)

Before I go, I wanted to thank you all for the support and the lovely comments on my posts! It really means a lot! xx

With lots of love,
Nikole
